Suzu City is located at the northernmost end of Noto Peninsula. There are many beautiful beaches that are popular for bathing and camping. Other features of the city include an Agehama-style salt farm, the only such place in Japan, and Suzu pottery.
Drive from the eastern coast to the western coast of Noto Peninsula
Enjoy fantastic views of reefs, white sandy beaches and pine trees, varied shorelines and the magnificent scenery of the Sea of Japan.
This white lighthouse, which was constructed in 1883, is located at the tip of the Noto Peninsula, where you can see both the sun rising from the sea and the sun setting into the sea.
The Kinoura seashore has beautiful sea water, and is home to various aquatic animals and plants. It is known as a good diving and fishing spot.
The museum presents salt-making as it is done at the Agehama-style salt farm, and its history. You can experience salt-making here.
There are clusters of camellia trees in Suzu City. The grove at Tokuho Shrine on the Kinoura seashore is one example. Some trees are as high as 12m. The best period to see the blossoms is late February to April.
