Shika Town
Sightseeing Model Course
Shika Town is located in the southernmost part of Noto Peninsula, and its west coast faces the Sea of Japan. The long coastline offers various scenic spots such as rocky coasts featuring cliffs and rock formations, coves used as fishing ports, and sandy beaches ideal for summer bathing.
A two-day trip for enjoying the
scenic spots along the coast
The coastline of Shika Town is a scenic area called “Noto Kongo”. We hope you enjoy the beautiful beaches and various scenic spots along the coast of the Sea of Japan.
This pair of rocks is also called Noto Futami. The larger and smaller rocks are said to be female and male, respectively.
The opening in the giant rock projecting out into the sea is 6m wide and 15m high. The old weather-beaten pine trees growing on the top remind us of the wonder of nature.
Enjoy the magnificent view of Noto Kongo during a 20 min. cruise. The cliffs present a new fascination when viewed from the sea.
This port has a long history, and flourished as an anchorage for Kitamae merchant ships.
This is the oldest wooden lighthouse in Japan. It stands on the cliff of Mt. Hiyoriyama. It has been designated as a historical site by Ishikawa Prefecture.
